Annual Ski Swap
SPVSP's annual ski swap is the primary means of raising money for volunteer ski patrol operations during the upcoming winter season. The money raised is used to fund expenses of the volunteer patrol at Summit West. Affiliated with the National Ski Patrol, SPVSP volunteers patrol the hill to help you have the most enjoyable experience you can each weekend. The ski swap usually takes place in late October or November each year at the Red Hook Brewery in Woodinville, WA.
Patrollers are asked to sign up to work shifts at the swap.
How Does It Work?
Selling
Three easy steps:
- Bring us your used snowsport equipment during the equipment drop-off period between Friday 9am-9pm and Saturday 9am-5pm. Skis, snowboards, boots, bindings and poles are all accepted, as are gently used apparel items, including jackets, gloves, hats, and pants. Sorry but we can not accept older straight skis or boots that have worn heels or toes.
- Tell us how much you want to sell each item for.
- Come back Sunday afternoon. We give you a check for the purchase price of your goods minus a 30% commission, along with any items that did not sell.
Buying
A variety of new and used equipment, including skis, boards, boots, bindings, helmets, googles, and apparel are available for purchase. In addition to consignment items, we have some great vendors selling discounted new gear and clothing.

How did we decide?
CNW wants to ensure the City of Woodinville keeps its promise of 'preserving our Northwest woodland character, our open space, and our clean environment.' CNW believes high-density housing and the resulting increased traffic through our neighborhoods are in direct conflict with the City's vision. Uncontrolled growth or rezoning that destroys the wooded character in established neighborhoods would demonstrate that the City is abandoning its vision and the very reason for its formation. CNW views our role as a guardian of responsible growth which meets Growth Management Act (GMA) requirements and gives us the freedom of “self-governance” we fought so hard to win in WA State Supreme Court!
Why You Should Care
- In the last few years, we have witnessed Snohomish County’s attempts to change from a rural golf course to a proposed regional soccer sports field to now a potential site for multiple schools. While a proposed settlement seems to have been reached, new developments in both Snohomish County and in City of Woodinville need to be monitored to help ensure growth occurs in the right areas where transportation and infrastructure already exist or are planned.
- An unbalanced City Council could make decisions that would threaten R-1 zoning. For example, a vote to upzone any R-1 area to R-4 or higher (4 dwelling units per acre instead of one dwelling unit per acre) could force sewer into our community, costing each homeowner $35,000 to $50,000 for hook-up. This is not an option once a decision has been made.
- CNW has fought hard to preserve the wooded character of R-1. We need to ensure our City Councilmembers will help continue this legacy.
Leaders are judged by their vision for the future—your vote for candidates whose goals are aligned with CNW’s Mission Statement will help form the lasting legacy with the citizens of Woodinville by providing a community in a rural tranquil setting that ourselves and our children can enjoy
Please vote for Al Taylor and Gary Harris
